I am 57% blonde... yikes

So this week I got called blonde more times than my whole life- sad, one of the reasons was because I locked my keys in the car at the gym at 5:00 in the morning, and a couple other things that are too embarrassing to share but I saw this thing and thought i would do it to see if I truly was blonde... only read it if you are super bored ha.

San Fran-

For mom's birthday we went to San Francisco it was so much fun!

Here is the Oakland temple, we saw it from BART's (kind of like a train) so the picture isn't very good.

Me and Kali just being ourselves...

On Fisherman's Wharf there is this hat shop that we always stop in, LICE HEAVEN! My head literally itched for hours after we went in there. The hat says "kiss me" and has mistletoe above it.  I think I should have bought it ha.
BFFs. (I love kali's dimple she is so gorgeous)
We went to Bubba Gumps for lunch and Preston told them it was mom's b-day.  They made her stand on her chair while everyone whooped and hollered at her while they sang.  They said she was turning 29... if only.
Here we are at Pier 39...
There were all of these really weird statues everywhere so me and Kali took pictures with them what else are they for?
Here is the reason we went to San Francisco, Mom wanted to go see the "Bush Man"... He is so funny he hides behind these bushes and when people walk by, he scares them. It is hilarious.
More freaky statues.
Here we are on Fisherman's Wharf, we road the trolley down to the wharf, it was so cool we had never done that before (I didn't post a ton of pics because mom will, I didn't want to steal her thunder, so look at her blog). We had so much fun ...

Except for one thing. I am notorious for losing things, I don't try to. seriously. but sure enough I was bound to lose something on this trip...I always do.  At work we got these really cool stainless steel water bottles to kind of advertise for our investment representative (I bought one almost exactly like it from Nordstrom for like $20, so yeah these were nice water bottles) I loved that thing so much, I literally carried it everywhere.  So sure enough we get off the plane (mom even says, "Juli, do you have everything..." and I do) and we go to the bathroom and yup I left it in the bathroom stall, on the toilet paper dispenser. The second we walk out of security I suddenly realize my most prized possession (for the moment anyways) is gone... forever. I almost started crying.  The week gets even better, on friday I am at school and I have my keys in my hand (on my key ring I have two keys both are to my car, don't ask me why but when the car salesman handed me the keys both were on one ring and I never took the other one off. BAD IDEA!), go to class, the keys are set on my desk then I go study and this thought comes to my mind... put your keys in your backpack, yup I ignored it a few minutes later same thing... but I once again ignore it.  When it's time to go to class I stand up my keys fall out of my lap, I don't realize and walk away.  After class I get in my backpack because I needed to go to my car and I realize my keys are gone. gulp. I retraced my steps but no luck, sure enough I start bawling uncontrollably, call dad out of class and make him come search because I can't even see from the tears blurring my vision.  I prayed so hard... we retraced my steps and I got the "remember where you put things/put things in the same place" lecture I hear almost every other day.  We went back to the place I was studying (for the second time) and I tell dad, "I was sitting right here... they're gone."  Then this kid looks over and asks, "are you looking for keys?"  I think I heard angels singing, he had turned them into the receptionist across the hall.  I was seriously being watched over, guided, helped, prompted... the whole nine yards! the church is true and I love it.

Realizations

So lately I have just been like thinking about what I want to do with my life, who I want to be, what I want to become... blah, blah, blah the things every college student wonders about. Anyways today was Stake Conference and it was so good it was way refreshing and totally made me step back and look at life in a new perspective. One of the speakers was up talking and I was just taking notes when all of a sudden he stopped, naturally I looked up and there were all these people surrounding this little old lady in the front of the chapel. I am not sure if she just passed out, had a heart attack or what not but all these men carried her out and drove her to the hospital (I later found out). I am sure she just woke up today and came to Stake Conference not expecting something like this to happen. Life is so fragile. Things can happen so fast. I am so grateful for the amazing people I have met and the things each and every person has taught me. A lot of things that have happened recently have made me realize how precious the relationships we have with each person are. Stake Conference was so good for me- I love the Savior so much. I truly have the best family/friends and I am so grateful for all they do for me!

This weekend we were going to go up to Idaho and visit Grandma and Grandpa but Dad had a lot of Bishop stuff to do so we didn't. But anyways I absolutely love old people. They are so sweet and wise. I am so excited to grow old and have short white hair. When I am old I am going to be on a bowling league, go to water aerobics, book club, shopping with my friends while my husband goes golfing and if I am going deaf I will just smile and nod when people talk to me... ha. I look up to the elderly so much, they have so many experiences and advice to give us younger generation if we just ask.

Just a quick update on my life- I am still going to school and working at Mountain America Credit Union (which I love). Shockingly I am doing pretty good on my New Years Resolutions! I said that 2009 was going to be the best year yet and I really think it will be... ha. I just try to take each day at a time and live moment by moment (sometimes second by second), so I don't get stressed about things that aren't important. I don't really have any serious love interests right now. But I do love boys, seriously- I am way boy crazy. Sometimes it seems like the only ones I want though are the ones I can't really have (no they aren't married... ha) but either they already have a girlfriend and that's why I like them, they are living like 2,000 miles away, or we only like each other when the other person doesn't (I like him when he doesn't like me and he likes me when I don't like him...). Oh well though I guess I am content with life right now, I am still young. When I was applying for the education program I totally freaked out wondering if it's really what I want to do. So I am taking some art classes, creative writing, finance, and some education classes. We'll see how life pans out after this semester. Maybe I'll just go to school the rest of my life, a professional student. When the time is right, I will figure something out. Sorry this is super long... I guess I just started typing and before I knew it I had typed a freaking novel... hey maybe I'll be a writer.

can't live with 'em can't live without 'em

So I totally love my singles ward and just recently I have started to hang out with a lot of guys from the ward... Anyways I am wondering if boys nowadays have any chivalry? So I went on this date tonight and he came and got me (good thing he didn't honk or I wouldn't have come out!) and he even opened the door for me, good it was all fine but wait a minute I need to back up first of all I have always thought that this boy was so cute- he wears the cutest glasses, he combs his hair nice, has good style, and he is applying for dental school soon.  Perfect right?! So I totally went over on my texting this month, had to up my plan and I am still going to go over because of this boy. Tonight our date was way fun and stuff and then when he dropped me off he was just like, "ok see ya" WHAT? are you kidding me- he didn't even get out of the car to say good bye to me.  Well as I was walking in I thought what a freaking jerk, but- as I start looking back at our conversations I realized that he has absolutely no respect for women... good thing I didn't pursue that one huh. Then last weekend I went out on a date with this guy and guess how he asked me out. on facebook chat. totally lame- what is this world coming to? I really think boys just don't understand or something.  Anyways we went out on the date and he seriously talked 98% of the date- and all he talked about was his mission.  I squeezed in a total of 28 words max and it in sayings like, "oh thats cool" "haha" "oh really" "thanks- that was fun... good night" haha seriously.  I don't really know, don't get me wrong I have gone on a lot of really fun dates and stuff but the last two have been pretty weird! Anyways school is good, I am so excited for it to be over! - life is good- Work is good- I am going to work in the cafe again for the holidays and to be completely honest I am freaking excited! more to come...

Friends, food, and fun...

I haven't updated in forever and there is so much I have to say... ha. But I won't bore you with all I really want to say.  First of all I declared my major. yikes.  It was really hard because I want to do so many things.  I wanted to go into chemical engineering and move to purdue by tif and josh (I still might, who knows), graphic design, radiology and many more but... I am going into Elementary Education.  I think it will be really fun and I love my intro to education class. I hope to teach kindergarten but we will see how it all pans out.  I know that the picture is totally blurry but oh well right.  So like every Sunday or every other Sunday like 20-50 people come over for what I call, "friends, food and fun" basically we all get together and just play wii, pool, foosball, games, and just have a good time.  The boy in the back on the right is kind of my new crush (I have like 3). ha. Don't worry though, he got a hair cut (I liked his hair long... oh well). Anyways so this past week the ward asked me if they could do FHE at our house.  um. yah. it was crazy there were over 80 people and it was totally body-to-body it was way fun. I got a new haircut so that's what that picture is for, I never want to put pictures of myself on here but... mom says to and I guess I have to obey.  I saw the boy I used to kind of stock at school yesterday ... I said hello and yeah pretty much I am not in love with him like I used to be.  Mom and Kali are in Indiana this weekend.  I don't know if me, dad, and preston will survive. I have eaten cracked wheat for the past 3 meals, and dad hasn't eaten at all, mom's birds are going to die and who knows where the dog is (her prized possessions, in case you didn't know).  I know I have written a lot but I just wanted to comment about the election... I voted. and yes, I voted for mccain. I have to admit I am seriously considering moving to Europe, or Canada or something.  But, I think that our country will survive, I mean no one wanted Clinton to be president but we're still here right?  I think that will be the same for Obama, we will all be fine, I am pretty sure the world isn't going to end in 4 years, or hopefully not anyways...

This last picture is just some of my ward buddies at friends, food, and fun night.

yay.

This is my bff, Megan.  I absolutely love her, she makes me laugh so hard, and seriously she is so cute.  I am seriously loving life right now! I love my singles ward now, and I love my new job.  My favorite thing ever is to work the drive-thru.  Today this guy had like 4 transactions to do, and he just kept poppin' the jokes it was way funny.  For my intro to education class I have to do 20 hrs observation, today I went to this kindergarten class and the children were so cute! I think I want to be a kindergarten teacher.  At recess I was just like standing there kind of unsure what to do but this little boy was like hey will you play freeze tag with me.  I was like sure.  I was "it" and pretty soon all 4 kindergarten classes were playing.  They would all just tag me and pretty soon I was worn out.  Then I taught them red rover, it was so cute, they loved me! oohh. I seriously think I want to be a kindergarten teacher, I love the little innocent children and the funny songs they sing.  My love life is still kinda blah... but I sense it picking up, haha we'll see though.
